The ARI is a relatively new feature in MFE over the past couple of years but it has become highly anticipated. Multifamily owners are engaged in a seemingly endless quest to quantify ROI on renovations and upgrades and the April Issue of MFE has become a valuable tool in that journey.
If you offer a product or service that can add value to a "value-add strategy" this would be an ideal issue to promote around.
Here are some of the highlights:
Apartment Renovation Index (ARI) Project Portfolio
This seven-page picture portfolio takes a close-up look at six projects that were rehabbed by companies on MFE’s exclusive, third-annual 2012 Apartment Renovation Index survey. (The survey will also be used to calculate MFE’s Top 25 Renovators list, which will be featured in the May issue of the magazine.) The six projects will comprise a renovated bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, living room, fitness room/gym, and another area, such as a leasing center or parking garage.
Each project will include vital data such as the items renovated in the room, unit size, and, most importantly, investment per unit and increase in rent expected per investment. Write-ups will tell the reader where the renovator’s money works best, which amenities or upgrades bring the best return, and the risk/reward for the multifamily owner that’s associated with each renovation.
Cover Story: TBA
We profile an old-school entrepreneurial company that eschews the institutional world in many respects. It buys, renovates, and holds apartments seemingly forever. The firm succeeds because of the strength of its culture and the opportunistic way in which it looks at technology.
